Hannover, Nathan Nata
(fl. 17th cent)
   Polish preacher, kabbalist, lexicographer, and chronicler. During the Chmielnicki massacres, he left his birthplace in Volhynia and wandered through Poland, Germany and the Netherlands. In 1653 he went to Italy. In 1662 he was appointed president of the bet din and head of the yeshivah in Jassy, Walachia. Later he moved to Moravia. He published sermons, a Hebrew-German-Latin-Italian lexicon, a kabbalistic prayerbook, and an account of the Chmielnicki persecutions.
